I'm going to attempt to rec at least 10 fics a week, maybe posting 5 on Saturdays and another 5 on Wednesdays. If that goes well, I'll try for more. I have quite a few stories stored up from years of reading fan fiction. I'll use this time to get them out to everyone else while also sorting through and getting rid of fics I don't like anymore while re-reading old favs. YAY!

Thoughts: This is a story I was very reluctant about for a long, long time. And when I finally gave in...? I read the first 28 chapters straight without sleeping, and believe me, these chapters are LONG. It's dark, vicious and amazingly well plotted out. Virgil and Richie's characters are very dead on, not making them effeminate or flamboyant, but still getting across that feelings are developing between the two that go beyond friendship. I can't say much more without spoiling it, but beware: Not for the faint of heart, by far.

Thoughts: This was the first ever Static Shock fic I've ever read, and still my favorite. This story exemplified all that I had been looking for in the world of slash fan fiction: A romance between two men. I got sick of reading the cliched crap that was Het romance, so turned to slash to find that it was just as bad. No, worse. The guys were girly, had long hair and wore clothes I could never imagine any of the characters in. While some fics were exceptional, there was still something missing.

And I found that something here.

In this story I found just what I was looking for. Never once did a character have soft curves or a pretty face. No, instead, I found muscles and a strong jaw. Thank GOD!

Thoughts: The High School AU done right! Often time, when someone does a Naruto High School AU, Naruto is an angsty little suicide girl... (er... boy...) who cuts himself all night while crying to AFI. Maybe it's an American thing, 'cause this here gem is written by a Brit who knows how to play with characters. Reading this, seeing how the characters interact and understanding the different scenarios, it's very easy to still see Naruto and Sasuke in their AU counterparts. The whole thing is just so believable, there's a bit of OOC-ness, but it's necessary considering how the author changes the backgrounds of the characters. The friendship between Sasuke and Naruto is great, and you can see a real love of the characters. The whole thing is a lot of fun, and a definite recommended read for anyone looking for a good AU fic.

Thoughts: This story was heartbreaking, and so frikkin good. Somber and rich with beautiful details. A very good oneshot, and one of my favorite Sasu/Naru fics.
